I rather enjoy this whole setup—“Your quest is to cure your curse, but not because of some convoluted reason that requires you go do it yourself, just because you’re a disappointment so dad’s not letting you take the easy way out of this one.”
Basically, the entire premise appears to be “Yes, I could buy you a new car, but *you* totaled it so you’re going to raise the money *yourself*, little lady.”
